What we believe

A declaration of biblical conviction.

This statement of faith expresses the core doctrines that shape the teaching, ministry, and mission of The Proclamation. It is not exhaustive, but it is faithful — anchored in the truth of God's Word.

The Holy Scriptures

We believe the Bible, composed of the Old and New Testaments, is the inspired, inerrant, and authoritative Word of God. It is sufficient for all matters of faith, life, and godliness, and it is the final rule by which every teaching, practice, and conviction must be tested.

The Triune God

We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. He is the Creator, Sustainer, and Sovereign Lord of all things. He is perfect in holiness, infinite in wisdom, and abundant in mercy, love, and grace.

God the Father

We believe the Father is the first person of the Trinity. He is holy, just, and loving. He sovereignly governs all things according to His perfect will and purposes, and He adopts sinners into His family through Jesus Christ.

Jesus Christ

We believe Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, fully God and fully man, conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He lived a sinless life, died a substitutionary death on the cross for sinners, rose bodily from the dead on the third day, ascended into heaven, and will come again in power and glory to judge the living and the dead.

The Holy Spirit

We believe the Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity. He convicts the world of sin, regenerates the dead heart, indwells every believer, and empowers the church for worship, witness, and holy living. He gives spiritual gifts for the building up of the body of Christ.

Humanity and Sin

We believe God created humanity in His image, male and female, to glorify Him and enjoy Him forever. Because of Adam's rebellion, all people are born in sin, alienated from God, and unable to save themselves. Apart from Christ, mankind is under just condemnation.

Salvation

We believe salvation is wholly by the grace of God, received through faith alone in Jesus Christ alone. It is not earned by human effort, merit, or religious works. Those who repent and believe are justified, forgiven, adopted, and sealed by the Holy Spirit for eternal life.

The Church

We believe the church is the universal assembly of all true believers, as well as local congregations of the faithful, devoted to the apostles' teaching, fellowship, the breaking of bread, and prayer. The local church is God's primary means for making disciples and displaying His glory among the nations.

The Christian Life

We believe those who are saved by grace are called to a life of holiness, obedience, love, and good works. Sanctification is the Spirit's work in the believer, producing fruit, transforming the heart, and preparing the saint for glory. Good works are the fruit of saving faith, not its foundation.

The Gospel Mission

We believe the gospel is the good news of Jesus Christ and the only hope for the world. Every believer is called to proclaim Him, make disciples, and live as a witness until Christ returns. The mission of God extends to every nation, tribe, people, and tongue.

The Last Things

We believe Christ will return visibly and bodily to consummate His kingdom. The dead will be raised, the righteous will inherit eternal life with Christ, and the unrighteous will face eternal separation from God. The people of God will dwell forever in the new heavens and new earth, glorifying Him without end.
